DIY Pegboard Easel
If you’ve followed me long enough, you’ve probably seen plenty of market content from me over the years. I did my first market in December 2019 right before the pandemic hit, and it was a TOTAL flop. When I made my return to markets in 2022, I vowed to do so with a booth set-up that I could feel proud of.
Part of that mission included designing and building three different custom displays during the summer of 2022 (with my carpenter dad’s help, ofc), and while the first two displays I built were the biggest pains in the ass ever with MANY tears shed, the third and final display took me less than an hour and had me saying “well I wish I would’ve started with that one!”
The display in question is this folding pegboard easel that is literally so easy to build, you don’t even need any measurements! (And the crowd goes wild.) I’m excited to be sharing the instructions completely free with you in two different formats today: a YouTube tutorial and a digital download with instructions. I know folks have different learning preferences, so pick your poison! 🙂
Once you have your folding pegboard built, you’ll be able to pair it with any standard pegboard accessories (I’ll share some of my favorites soon), or you’ll be ready to pair it with Kyn You Believe It’s sticker ledges that are seen here.
What You'll Need
Regardless of whether you’ll be building your easel using the video or digital download, you’re gonna need some supplies before you go any further. This shopping list has direct links to the exact supplies I use for my easel, so I recommend shopping through these links or my Amazon shopping list, linked here.

Important Supply Considerations!
Before you run to the hardware store, please keep these points in mind! You may need to adjust your supply list accordingly.
PEGBOARD: Most pegboard sheets are fairly universal, but discrepancies can sometimes exist! In order to gain access to the widest selection of pegboard accessories, be sure to use pegboard with 1/4” diameter holes that are 1” apart. (The digital download has a print-out page that will help with this step!)
SCREWS: most pegboard comes in 3/16” thickness. However, if your pegboard is 1/4” thick, use 1-1/2” length screws instead. (If you plan to use KYBI's sticker ledges, your pegboard MUST be 3/16" thick.)
WING NUTS: most machine screws come with standard nuts included. That said, if you want to easily disassemble your pegboard for travel, swapping for wing nuts is recommended.
PAINT & PRIMER: pegboard tends to come in two shades, white and brown. If you don’t like the color of your pegboard, be sure to pick up some spray paint with primer! (Avoid rollers/paint brushed, as you can clog the holes.)
COATING: sealing your pegboard and its legs with polyurethane coating is optional, but recommended if you have a lot of shows and want to avoid damage to your displays.
Good Luck!
I’ll let the videos and digital download take it from here! I hope you have fun building your new easel. :) Once you have it built, feel free to send pictures to hello@kynyoubelieveit.com, or tag me on Instagram and TikTok @kynyoubelieveit. Good luck!
